Our Mission
We are committed to providing a network of support that includes team building, community service, and financial assistance, while fielding competitive lacrosse teams that honor the game by demonstrating the values of sportsmanship and fair play. Our primary goal is to grow the game of lacrosse for anyone within our boundaries interested in participating and learning to play lacrosse.
Our coaches emphasize a development-focused and family-oriented program culture. We focus on building strong relationships between players, coaches, and parents through various events and activities. These include mentor nights, potlucks, parent gatherings, team-builders, and annual events like Senior Night and an Annual Alumni Game. The program encourages participation by providing loaner equipment, offering free clinics, and guiding newcomers through the process.
PROGRAM PHILOSOPHY & OBJECTIVES
Aztec Lacrosse is committed to providing a safe, fun, and challenging athletic experience for the Players. We do this by teaching lacrosse according to the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) timeline, teaching systems, concepts, and habits through small area games & competitive drills, and by judging ourselves, the players, and the program on character development, player development, and retention, not on wins or losses.
Our primary objective is the use of sports to help our athletes develop positive character and values that will help them succeed throughout their lives. We aim to provide a program which plays a significant role in developing our values, morals, social maturity, physical fitness, and mental fitness of our players through team commitment and friendships.
We are part of the Arizona Lacrosse League.

My son picked up a lacrosse stick in 4th grade, fell in love with the sport and can’t believe he going into his 7th season! I feel fortunate to be a part of the Aztec lacrosse community who shares the passion for the sport and raising our boys with a positive culture and team mindset. The countless selfless hours and energy from the board, coaches and families to make this run smoothly are so appreciated. Our boys are learning valuable sports IQ along with life lessons and having fun. We are proud Aztecs and looking forward to a great season!
Aztec Lacrosse Club is literally our second family! My son has played since 2018 and LOVES the game! He's had the best coaches and the club has taught him what good sportsmanship means on and off the field. Aztec Lax is a welcoming club to players of all levels/abilities and every season the coaches create an amazing culture with the boys and they play for the collective good, not themselves. It's amazing and something you don't always find in youth sports today. This club has a strong support system of parent volunteers committed to helping the team succeed. We are so lucky to be apart of this beautiful community.
I have graduated 2 boys from this program and have one more to go. This program has had a fantastic impact on all my boys. One of my boys is playing in college and my youngest has his mind set on doing the same. With Coach PJ and the Aztecs this will become a reality. The parents and community around this team is amazing. You can feel the excitement and determination to make a difference. Grow the game!
